On Saturday shooters from Houston, Victoria and Valley Mills enjoyed a beautiful day at our range with mild temperature and light wind. It did get a little breezy for the doubles event and there were a few “lost” calls because of the targets doing aerobatics.

You can see some really good scores were turned in especially in the .410 bore event.

When you consider that the  .410 bore only uses a ˝ oz shot charge which is less that  one half of a 12 gauge shot charge. That’s some really good shooting with a very small shell.

The next shoot will be 100 targets each with 12 and 20 gauge and doubles if there is time. The shoot will be next month on March 8 range open for practice at 7:30 shooting starts at 8:30 with the 20 gauge..

There were 2 jackets and shirt left at the range. I will bring them to the next shoot February 9th and the owners may claim them then.

The February match will be 28 and .410 100 targets each and doubles if we have time.

I want to thank everybody who helped score, pull load machines and clean up. This is not a one person show, and all help is greatly appreciated.

See you next month.

A good turnout and some really good scores were shot

We also had a new shooter, Mark Mason and I hope we will see him again.

I want to thank especially Harry, Boyd and Sandy for pulling, scoring, and filling the trap houses.

Congratulations to Bill Tanner for the first competitive 100 straight ever shot here. Condolences to Tom Donahue for the beautiful 99 six targets ahead of every body else until Bill (no pressure) Tanner ran the table. Proving, I suppose, that it ain’t over until the skinny guy shoots.

I would submit to the shooters the following schedule month by month.

October 13 we will throw 100 each 28 and .410 and either 50 or 100 doubles time permitting.

November 10 (Happy Birthday USMC) 100 doubles and 100 shooters choice

December will start the evolution over with 100 each 12 and 20 with doubles if time permits

Thanks again

Wallie
